Scott Bentley seems like someone who’s in no rush, and I mean that in the best possible way. There’s a bit of guitar, a touch of blues, a sprinkle of country, and next thing you know, you’re in the middle of a quiet conversation. Maybe with yourself. Maybe with someone who used to matter but only exists in memory now. ‘Fool Becomes a Rose’ just exists, gently, and before you realize it, you’ve played it three times in a row.

‘Gentle, reflective, seasoned.’

What’s also cool is that Scott’s not some fresh-out-of-college musician with a SoundCloud link and a dream. He’s been writing songs for ages but only recently started releasing them. And that shows. There’s a calmness to his work that only really comes with time. So if you’re looking for a track you don’t have to “blast” to get something out of ‘Fool Becomes a Rose’ is perfect. I don’t know if this song’s gonna be some huge moment for the music world. But for someone, personally? It will be. And honestly, that might matter more.
