The French Guianese gospel scene rarely receives attention outside the Francophone world, remaining in the shadow of American traditions and European church movements. Kayliah appears at a moment when contemporary Christian music is going through a crisis. By 2023, Kayliah began composing her own material, and the signing with Bissereth Publishing in 2025 and the December release of ‘CE DIEU LÀ’ became the logical beginning of a promising path.

‘CE DIEU LÀ unfolds in the space between the intimacy of a bedroom soul recording and the structural discipline of the gospel tradition. CE DIEU LÀ acts as a public movement pronounced in the form of a prayer. Kayliah reveals sides of Christian life that usually remain behind the closed doors of church counseling rooms: recommendations, recurring weakness, a feeling of unworthiness of divine love. Kayliah could have recorded a Sunday church hymn designed for collective singing and joyful absorption. Instead, she created a track that requires strength of attention and emotional involvement. It is an ambitious position for a young artist just beginning her career, but the performance justifies the ambition.
