Jamythyst is a singer and songwriter who writes, produces, and records music herself, in her apartment in Jersey City. Her new electropop single ‘Skyline’ is filled with that same DIY lo-fi atmosphere and complete authorial control. The track is dedicated to the first months of falling in love against the backdrop of New York City, and the city becomes part of that feeling: brighter, faster, more significant. Jamythyst takes this specific emotion and holds it throughout the entire track in the slightly dreamy form of her personal experience.

Jamythyst describes herself as a ’90s girl,’ although her musical DNA is considerably more complex. Lady Gaga, Robyn, Prince, Janet Jackson, Madonna… These are a genuine system of influences through which the artist filters her signal, and in ‘Skyline’ she creates a remarkable mix of inspirations that immediately sets it apart from other tracks in the genre. I recommend grabbing your best headphones and putting the track on repeat to savor every beat and moment of ‘Skyline.’
